Wednesday- 30mins- (220/200)- Today was my last day working with Lee. I spoke to him over the phone after replying to two emails about the upcoming festival. We discussed the different things we've been through over the past few months, in which I have learnt a great deal. I thanked Lee for everything he has done for me and for allowing me the opportunity to be part of his organization. Lee was also very thankful and said he hopes we work together in the future. I am sure that we will work together again at some point as we have a great relationship and I have an awful lot of respect for him and what he has accomplished.

Sunday- 1.5hrs (219.5/200)- Spoke to Lee earlier today, he asked me to put a post on Facebook about the Tees Valley Festival in May. He wanted "a last push" for any teams wanting to enter, to make sure that we haven't got any teams trying to enter a couple of days before and have to change the schedule like last time. Earlier in the week I had to put up a few more player appeals, other than that it's been a quiet week and things and looking good for the upcoming events.
Sunday- 1 hrs- (218/200)- I've continued to keep on top of communications with different teams and social media duties. Other than that we haven't really had a lot going on. Lee said it doesn't look like we will need to adjust the number of teams in the next festival which is good news and makes life a lot easier.
Wednesday- 30mins (217/200)- I had a video call with Lee earlier to go through the goals worksheet. One of the most interesting things about the exercise was that Lee also spoke about his aspirations and goals for the organization. he said that over the next three years he is aiming to expand the company into different regions throughout the north of England. Lee's main suggestion and tip for me moving forward was to continue to network and speak with different people, he said that may involve volunteering some of my personal time in order to be in a better position in the long run. I feel like the exercise has been a very beneficial one and I have learnt a lot throughout this process. Lee said as we are coming to the end of the program that he has no new big projects for me to complete; he just asked for me to maintain the social media account and email communications and if anything urgent comes up he will let me know.
Monday- 2.5hrs (216.5/200)- I heard back from Mark on Saturday, he said he's really pleased with what I designed for his team and was very thankful. I spoke to Lee yesterday, he also said the program was really good and that he will keep it for future reference. He wanted me to send out a few more player appeals and an appeal for a fundraiser that is being done by a local boys team. He asked me to call him Wednesday to go through the mentor goals discussion.
Friday- 5 hrs (214/200)- Took a lot of time yesterday and this morning finishing up the training program for Mark. Overall, I am really pleased with what I have done and I think he's going to love the finished product and enjoy delivering it to his team. I sent him the program early today so I'm waiting to hear back from him. I've posted two more player appeals onto Facebook for local teams and responded to a few team emails about up and coming festivals. Lee said the festivals are filling up really quickly and we may have to adjust the format again in order to accommodate more teams. He said any changes he will let me know so I can post them on social media. He also told me he completed my evaluation over the weekend and I'm going to video call him next week to go through the mentorship goals worksheet.
Wednesday- 4hrs (209/200)- Yesterday and today I have been completing the usual tasks such as social media updates and email communications. We had a couple more players appeals to post; one for a new U6 girl's team and another U11 boy's team. Lee asked me to keep an eye on emails regarding the up and coming events so that if we need to make and adjustments we can do so as soon as possible. The main reason he wants to focus on this is because of the last minute changes that we had to make to the tournament on Monday.
I received feedback from Mark about the third week of the training program, again he was very pleased. He asked me to go over a few details so he could get a better understanding, which I did no problem. I have started to do some research and come up with ideas for the final week of the program. I am only going to design one session; the final session of the program I have asked Mark if he can arranged a practice game with another team in his club. I advised Mark to try and get a group from the year above so that his team's defense would be under more pressure. During the game I am going to give Mark so pointers and things to look out for; and encourage Mark to stop the game when he feels necessary in order to coach his team in a game like scenario. Monday- 5.5hrs (205/00)- Had a number of different conversations with Lee over thee weekend regarding the festival. A team pulled out in the last minute so he wanted me to post an appeal on the Facebook page early on Saturday morning. We needed to find one U8 Boys team to come in and play. Luckily, the appeal worked and we managed to find a replacement team for Monday's festival, South Shields FC. Lee sent me a quick text early this afternoon letting me know that the festival was very successful and everything ran smoothly without any issues. I'm very pleased about this as we put in a lot of work to get the tournament on and there was a few hurdles along the way. Lee is going to send me some pictures so I can upload them later this week.
Today I also began developing week 3 of the training program for Boro Rangers. Mark was really pleased and very complimentary with the week 2 content and what I had put together. This has definitely been my favorite project that I have worked on during my time at LS. I spent around an hour and 30 minutes this morning researching and looking at different sessions. I finally managed to put a session together that I am happy with, I think the project is coming together really nicely and progresses very well. I emailed it over to Mark, awaiting his reply before completing the final week's sessions. Thursday- 5hrs (199.5/200)- Had a lot of emails and social media feedback regarding the tournament this Sunday, it's going to be a great day and hopefully the weather back home holds out for everyone involved. I spent most of my morning today designing week 2 of the training program for Boro Rangers. I spent a lot of time reading and on YouTube, conducting research and looking at a number of different sessions from different sources. Whilst designing the program I have been trying to go into as much detail as possible, while also trying to make the sessions as easy to understand as possible. I feel very proud about what I have done so far and I'm excited to see how the coaches will react to week 2's sessions. The only negative about doing this is that I am not delivering the sessions myself and I would love to have the opportunity to design a program like this and implement it myself. I've emailed week two of the program to Mark, I'm just waiting to hear back from him before getting started on week 3.
Tuesday- 4hrs (194.5/200)- Completed all the usual tasks over the weekend, email correspondents, players appeals and social media updates. I spoke with Lee this morning and he told me that due to increased demand for the Easter Cup this coming Sunday, that we are expanding the tournament and adding more age groups. Although it's logistically challenging, this is great news for the organization as the interest for the event has been extremely high and it has received a great reception! I posted on Facebook and sent out emails about the change to the structure of the tournament so that the teams who are competing are aware of this.
Today I also received a reply from Mark, one of the coaches from Boro Rangers who I am designing the training program for. He said that the outline of the program and the first week's sessions look great and that they're perfect for what they're doing. I'm very pleased about this and I'll get the ball rolling for the rest of the program on Thursday or Friday. |
